WellByShell

Health, Performance, Resilience

Why

This blog is a therapy resource for clients and health providers.  Therapy is work and sometimes that is homework and the homework is about being curious and testing out new approaches to being resilient.

This is where I put the neuroscience and research by well respected experts in the field of helping people to heal and grow. Many useful tips and tools so you don’t have to dig for them. I hope it educates, inspires, validates, and motivates you.

WellByShell is for my young diverse clients.  I want them to have a place where they can easily access resources while on their journey of  ‘knowing and growing’.  They come to short-term therapy for the same reasons; maybe it’s about regulating their emotions or communicating in a relationship or negative self talk or a parent causing them anxiety. Many are young college athletes who recognize their performance barriers are because of these things and they can move those barriers out of their own way.  I have so much respect for them.

WellByShell is for my diverse, midlife clients who spent their early years working so hard to build their life visions only to have them blow up and dissolve into a thousand pieces. Either from an early trauma that was never processed or by a trauma inflicted upon them as adults, they are ready to accept and commit to therapy.  They find their way to radical acceptance, a growth mindset, behavior change, and a new healthier lifestyle. Some are former athletes who ‘lost themselves’ along the way and are now returning to their athletic roots. I have so much admiration for them.

We are in training together. It takes training to make behavior change. It takes training to truly tune into the self and gain the control we desire. It takes training to be responsive to the challenges and changes life brings. It takes courage to love yourself first, and then let that radiate out.

With Respect,

Shell
